Perception

Everyone is intelligent and knows himself more than anyone else does but, if you judge a fish by its tree climbing ability it will live its whole life thinking and accepting that it is dull-witted. One should stop living or accepting fact of his life from someone else’s level of perception. In simple words our life shouldn't be defined by someone’s limited perceptions. It's simply how you look at things rather then what they seem to be.

Consider a glass half filled with water there are two perceptions one that it is half empty and another one that it is half full; the positive and negative perception tho. The optimist says the glass is half full while the pessimist says the glass is half empty. Then another similar one is we can complain because roses have thorns or else we can rejoice that thorn bushes have roses. The optimist says the thorns have roses while the pessimist says the roses have thorns. Our life is based on perceptions and perceptions are made and crumpled so quickly. To live a better life one must have positive (true) perception and basic funda for it is look inside yourself first, learn your heart: hear what it speaks, jot down what it wants and then look at the world outside and make it the truth that our heart wants to see.
